avital 3100l and dei 508d sensor

I have an Avital 3100L security system. I purchased the DEI 508D proximity sensor. In wiring it up I connected the power from the 508D to a tap that I installed on the alarm system's 12V constant line. I then grounded the black wire from the 508D directly to a spot on my vehicle. I then twisted the green and blue wire from the 508D and the blue Multiplex wire from the alarm system together. I then tested the system. The green light activates on the 508D and the alarm system chirps (warn away). I then move in and the red light on the 508D (full trigger) activates but the alarm system does not activate. I have twisted the wires together (green and blue from 508D to blue on alarm system) very tightly to make sure it had a good connection. I do not understand why the alarm system does not go into full alarm. The sensor itself seems to be working fine and the alarm system chirps when the warn away is triggered so I believe that is proof that all should be good. Is there any additional programming that has to be done to get the multiplex to trigger? Is there any way to test if the blue wire (full trigger) from the 508D is outputting the necessary pulse? Anyone have similar issues? I am wondering whether I got a bad sensor (508D) or not...

I forgot to mention that my Avital 3100L is installed in a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. It was installed by the local boys at Best Buy.

Diode isolate the outputs from the 508d via two 1n4004 diodes to the input on the alarm, also the ground of the 508d shoud be diode isolated as well to the Orange ground when armed wire of the system.commit your way to jehovah and he will act in your behalf. psalms 37:5
