2007 ford edge pats problem

Just installed a ultra start onto a 2007 Ford edge using a pkfm-pkf3 bypass. Tried resetting the bypass, and reprogramming with two keys like it says. Vehicle will start from remote start but only stay running for about 5 seconds, during this time the light on the bypass flashes rapidly. (during cranking it is solid) Any ideas or help guys? Thanks!

Also to add. Right before the car shuts off the bypass light goes solid again. From the bypass..... Pink RX wire is connected to the yellow/orange wire at the key switch Green TX wire is connected to the pink/green wire at the key switch Orange ignition wire is connected to the blue/brown wire at the key switch Can anyone verify the wires at the car are correct? Have you made sure the remainder of your installation is working properly? Is the factory PATS indicator flashing rapidly when you are trying to remote start? I would start by disconnecting the bypass, insert your key in the ignition (leave it in the off position) and try the remote start. If it starts and runs then you know it is the bypass that's causing your problem. If it doesn't work you know something is up with the remote start itself. If it's running for a full 5 seconds I would think the remote start is where the fault lies. I never use the ignition at the PATS module, I always hook it up on the bench to the ignition wire on the RS. Make sure the wire is seeing ignition properly (although from your post it sounds like it may be correct). Are you watching the indicator on the dash? When programming in the Fords I always use the dash indicator to know when to turn the key on and off. Turn first key on, wait for light to go out, turn second key on, wait for light to go out, remote start. This does not apply to the newest vehicles that have no indicator of course. Post back your results.Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

Above info from iDatalink.  This is a 4 Pin Black connector.  Pin 1 has PATS +12v ( not sure of the color ) but as Twelvoltz pointed out, go to the main ignition connector for the Ignition 1 signal.  The Green TX wire should be connected to the Violet/Grey wire.  The above color wires were correct in 2007 and 2008 models I have done.

Additionally, you will need two working, non-clone, keys to program the bypass module.  Timing is critical for each step and between keys.

Thanks! I disconnected the bypass and put a key into the ignition, still did not stay running. I then reset the remote start and relearned the tach signal, tried it again and it now works with the bypass and no key! So it looks like a problem with the first time I tried to learn the tach. Ok, I got one other problem...I can not get the parking lights to come on like they should. I was using this diagram ( http://documents.audiovox.com/701127.pdf )with the relay and I still am not getting no where? Is the relay a must if I can change the output of the remote starter to Neg for the parking light output?

I should say does anyone know what the correct wires are for the parking lights? As they are Neg. at the car....what needs to be done to make them function from the remote start? Thanks

Parking Lights (+) is a PURPLE / White wire in the Drivers Kick Panel.  This PURPLE / White wire can also be found at the SJB ( high under drivers dash ) at Connector D, Pin 20.Soldering is fun!

Prfect!!! Thank you! One last thing...Parking lights now work expect for the fact that the interior (parking) lights do not ( radio, cluster, shifter ) Is there another wire for the parking lights to tie into for that to be lit during remote start mode?

You could try the Gray (-) Parking Light wire Pin 3, at the headlight switch but...  Here is a note from DEI.

May need to interrupt the headlight switch ground wire when triggering this wire. It is BLACK/ purple at the headlight switch, 10 pin plug, pin 1.

Don't have Doc 1096 but the relay wiring is pretty basic.  Without interrupting the BLACK/ Purple wire, the headlight switch assy PCB can get damaged.
