I need someone to explain some contradiction in the Factory Viper 5301 installation manual. All of my questions are concerning the units (-)200ma outputs to the vehicle for a negatively controlled circuit.
For example: (-)200ma Horn output, relay only mentioned needed if circuit requires a positive onput(understandable). But for the (-)200ma Factory arm disarm and arm outputs the manual states to use a relay for use in a negative circuit. And last no mention of relays needed for the two wires lock/unlock which also on my vehicle which requires a negative pulse.
So just to be clear my question is why do I need to use a relay to supply ground when the output for the unit supplies a ground?
Vehicle is a 1998 Honda accord EX(just in case your wondering)

Without reading the manual, I can see no reason you would need a relay except perhaps trunk release.

in some vehicles the 200mA (-) pulse may not be strong enough to trigger a horn, locks etc.. Therefore a relay would be needed. in your car thats not the case. just disregard the need for a relay for the horn and locks
