hey guys i have a couple questions i hope you can help me with.
i have a 2005 Xterra SE that i installed a Ultra start 1272 remote starter in.
the truck starts and the lights, horn, locks all work.
my question(s) is i only hooked one starter wire up and one accessory wire up. and my heater blower doesn't work when the truck is remote started. is this because i need to hook up the 2nd accessory wire?
and should i use the selectable output on the remote starter for the 2nd starter or the 2nd accessory. (does it matter one way or the other if i add a relay to the 2nd starter or to the 2nd accessory)
thanks, Jared

You should have two Starter wires and two Accessory wires on that Xterra.  Program the U1272 White thick gauge wire on the

6 Pin connector for Starter2 ( Menu3, Item1, Opt1 ) and connect the White wire to the Xtera's Light Green Starter2 wire.

Obtain a 30/40 Amp SPDT relay and 20 Amp fuse.  Wire as follows :

Relay Pin 85 to U1272 (-) AUXILIARY 1 OUTPUT Black wire on 9 Pin connector
Relay Pin 86 and 87 to +12V constant thru 20 Amp fuse
Relay Pin 30 to Xterra GREEN/ YELLOW Accessory2 wire at ignition harness
Relay Pin 87A not used - insulate

Program the U1272 Menu1, Item5 to Opt 1.

Soldering is fun!

thank you so much for the info!
do you happen to know if the blue wire on the 9-pin connector needs to
be hooked up? or what it does?
also, if i wanted to hook up a relay for anti grind while the vehicle is running under remote start, how would i do that?
thanks again! Jared

The Blue wire on the 9 Pin connector is for starting vehicles with diesel engines.  Not needed in you application.   It can

also be programmed as a (+) Start Trigger, typically used for "Add-On" remote start systems.

Nope.  Programming is pretty easy on the Ultra Start units.  All you need is the two thick Red's connected to +12V constant,

Black to chassis ground, the thick Blue wire connected to the vehicles ignition wire and the antenna plugged in.  You will
use the ignition switch, antenna button and one of the 4 button remotes.  Having the Parking Lights and Horn connected
helps during the process, too.  Typically the units come thru with the remotes already paired to the brain.

This model Ultra Start does not have a dedicated output for Anti-Grind.  It can be done with an external 30/40 Amp SPDT

relay and a couple of 1N400x diodes ( assuming you are using a bypass module ).

Try this.  The Relay is a 30/40 Amp SPDT.  The diodes can be 1N4001, 1N4007, etc.

Yes, a SPST relay is OK for the ACC2 application as long as it's rated at 30A.  Try asking for a 5 Pin  "Bosch" style relay at the auto parts store ( NAPA, etc ).
