ok, so i saw someone else posted about a prostart issue on this forum recently, and being you guys have been GREATLY helpful in the past, i figured i would ask it here...
i've got a prostart remote starter, by my best assumption it's a ct-3371, it was purchased from Canadian Tire, is a 1 way remote starter with (un)lock and trunk functions. It works just fine for normal starting, but for some reason i can't get it to go into idle or cold weather modes... and right now it's about -36 degrees outside, and if it's not plugged in, i need to get a jump start after work...
http://www.engines911.com/asdocs/CT-3371_ug_en_h51s43_110608.pdf
the above link is to the unit that i believe my truck has, (remote looks identical, and is the same brand)
what i have been doing, for idle mode, i stop, take it out of gear, put the ebrake on, take my feet off the pedals, and press the trunk button... but when i do that, nothing happens...
and for cold weather mode, it's stop, ebrake, neutral, start button for 3 seconds? but when i do that, it goes into ready mode after 1 second, then cancels ready mode the lights turn back off, and when i turn the key off, the engine stops...
the truck is a 2007 ford ranger 4x4 with a manual transmission, and was installed by someone who used to work for viper

I think you have reservation and cold start a little mixed up.
Idle should be ebrake, neutral, release brake, hit start son remote.
Idle is the same but use trunk, and this option has to be turned in in settings.
If you paid an installer to do it and he didn't show you how to use it, I suggest you find someone else

It was a friend who installed it who used to be an installer for viper, he may have showed me, but it was about 10 months ago it was installed, and I had never needed to use those features, I sent him a pm on our local 4x4 forum last night, see what he knows

sorry for the delay in replying,
yeah, i had a few things mixed up for sure! i know what you mean by reservation mode now, i was used to it being called ready mode
i still haven't actually figured this thing out yet... we are past the cold, so the idle mode and cold start modes won't be used till next winter, but i would like to know how to set that up...
my installer has gone off the reservation (sorry for the pun) and i haven't heard from him or run into him at any of the meets recently, so there's been no help on that front...

You need to confirm the model number of the module first. The unit may not be set up for those features in the installer programming. The model number is listed on the module. It also lists the hardware and software versions. With all three of these, the correct programming guide can be found. You can then program the unit for those features and set which procedure is used to enable ready mode. One method is by remote, the other is by appointment the parking brake twice.

the module, if i remember correctly, is burried somewhere deep in the dashboard of my truck, however the box it came in is sitting next to my tools in the garage, i would imagine it, or something inside of it, will have everything we need...
as for the setting it with the park break twice, would that be the same if it's a manual transmission vehicle?

Ready mode is activated by one of a few methods programmed by the installer. There are different procedures to set vehicle into ready mode. Some use park brake once and some the park brake must be used twice. You need to get the programming guide and pick one method and then program it.
