My remote start is acting up. The vehicle is a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel truck. The remote is an Autostart AS2300 2 way. The remote start was in the truck when I bought it, about 2 years ago, and has worked fine until last week. One day, instead of starting, the parking lights would flash and the horn honk on and off for about 30 seconds, and then quit. Same thing happened when I tried lock and unlock.
So I unplugged everything and checked all connections...they were all okay. I reconnected everything and reset the remote to factory defaults. I could get the transmitter programmed to the brain, but I can't get into programming mode. It does not respond to any commands from the transmitter...no flashing lights, no horn on vehicle, and no beeps on transmitter.
I also tried new batteries in the transmitter. I checked the voltage of them when I installed them. They were at about 6.6 V. I checked again after trying to reprogram the brain and the batteries were down to 3.6 V.
I'm lost as to what needs replacing. Any one have any ideas?

Before I unplugged everything, I put it in and out of valet mode a few times. I haven't tried it since I reset the brain. It wouldn't go into valet mode after a reset, would it?
