Like the title says, I am looking for a few of the old magnetic hood pins with the magnets, that came with the astrostart systems. I am willing to pay for them. Thanks

Anybody? I know somebody has to have some of these thrown in a tool box somewhere?

If you mean the contact switches for roller doors, look in the Metra catalogue.

No thats not what im talking about. It is a hood pin that instead of being spring loaded like a normal one, it is a stationary pin that uses a magnet mounted to the hood to complete the connection.

This is boring, Metra catalogue, install parts, switches actually described as magnetic switches for hoods etc.
Instead of complaining try looking.

Well I just looked all through the latest Metra Install Bay catalog and I see nothing like I have described. I see pleanty of hood pins, and a few magnetic and mercury switches, but non are as I have described. I don't see anywhere in my post where I was complaining? and the part thats boring is that I have to deal with ignorant people like you, while looking for somebody who actually has the patience to help a fellow installer find a needed part.

So on with the search. This was used on the old Astroflex/AstroStart systems. If anybody could help me find a few of these it would be greatly appreciated.

you can use a hood tilt switch backwards (rests @ ground) with a 5k resistor in line with your hood pin wire. i have some if you really want the astro ones.

if your just trying to make the remote starter work and keep getting a hood pin code try grounding the hood pin wire through a 5k resistor. cheers.

nice...
