I attempted a remote start tonight in a 2008 Chevy HHR SS manual transmission and it was a fight and a half... and in the end, the car won. I had to have the customer take the vehicle uncompleted and bring it back next week. I'm trying to put in a CM6200 Compustar with the BLADE AL bypass.
The bypass is supposed to supply the door trigger and then take a connection to the driver door for RAP shutdown only. But I am not getting any door status... basically I try to set reservation mode and it just never shuts off because it is not seeing the door opening. I figured.. no big deal, and ran a hardwired door pin. But that caused an issue with the RAP shutdown not allowing reservation mode to activate (pulsing the door pin resets reservation mode). So then I figured I would just disconnect the RAP shutdown since GM's typically time out on their own after 10 minutes (which I did confirm). But that brought up a new issue... the BCM is going to sleep and therefore not disarming the factory alarm before remote starting (no door status in the bypass means no waking up the BCM prior to disarming). But I know that if I try connecting the RAP shutdown / BCM wake-up again, it will disable reservation mode.
Does anyone know of any issues with the iDatalink bypasses not supplying the door status on these like they say they do? I just did a 2008 cobalt (basically the same exact vehicle) a month ago and it was a standard install straight forward... no issues. I did try reflashing the BLADE AL as well as trying another BLADE AL in case it was bad. But after over 5 hours going at it (3 of which had the customer right there waiting), i decided to call it a night and get some ideas before going back at it again.
Any help is appreciated. Ideas are always welcome.
Thanks in advance.

One other thing I almost forgot... that completely blows my mind is that after removing the unit, the vehicle had no trouble starting with the key... which doesn't make sense to me since the Passlock wire has to be cut for the bypass installation. I tried multiple times and it started every single time without hesitation or issue...

Any ideas? I'll be calling iDatalink probably later today, but since I can't work on it during the available tech hours, I'd rather get multiple ideas to try so I can get this done.

Only red flag i can think of here, is was the firmware flashed for a manual vehicle? You can get into some hairy situations here, but what about a toggle switch to supply the RMST with a fake door trigger? Diodes to block backfeeding? Just tossing ideas out.

More i think about it diodes do sound like the answer here. One feeding the bcm and one blocking that feed to the remote start but allowing it to pass from the bcm to the rmst.

I THINK you need to cut the drivers door pin wire. Install 2 diodes with the band facing the door signal side. From the door switch itself it splits into 2 diodes bands facing the door. One goes back to the bcm side of the cut wire and the other side goes to your door trigger/arm input. Then connect the idatalink wakeup/rearm wire to the bcm side of the cut as well. Not sure if a diode is needed on that side or not, but it can't hurt. diode towards the idatalink module. I drew this on a napkin and it looks like it will give you everything you need. I can try painting it on the pc later tonight if needed.

ive had plenty of problems with different bypasses not picking up the doorpin on chevys. did you test the door pin wire from the bypass without it being connected to anything? if it give you a doorpin signal while it is unhooked then you know its some sort interference. also, are you using w2w or d2d? if w2w then check the harness on the compustar and the bypass for dammage, maybe the plug is mis-pinned or the wire is internally broken. just throwing out ideas, ive never done a compustar so i cant help you that much

Its a BLADE bypass into a Compustar so it is all D2D with no wiring to test the door pin. I reflashed it again and I'm going to triple check all of my connections in case maybe I missed something. If that doesn't work I'll probably end up going with diodes or a relay.
If anyone else has some ideas, keep 'em coming.. lol

I'm having a mind blank today... does this look like it will work correctly if the re-flash doesn't work?

After entering MTS mode try leaving the door open about 5 seconds then shut it and see if the Compustar locks the doors and shuts down.

We just picked up Compustar and the one MTS I did was a pain in the ass, all because of the delay on the door trigger wires.  Took me literally 6 hours to figure out I was just being impatient/lazy by sitting in the car, opening the door for a second and then closing it.  After taking the time to actually open the door and get out of the car, it was enough time for the Compustar to see the door triggers.  Granted this was with a FL-CAN if I remember right but might be similar.
