I have a 2001 ford escape that I want to install an Excalibur AL-1850. My truck has a 5-wire (-) domelight supervision wire, that per the 12volt it needs a relay wired as follow.2001 domelights supervision -- posted image.. The alarm unit that I have does not have a domelight supervision wire it only has and onboard relay, that its read as follow:
BLACK/ Red Wire - Light Relay N/O (+/-) Input
GREEN/ Violet Wire- Light Relay COM Output
WHITE/ Red Wire - Light Relay N/C Input
So how would I wire the domelight wire.

if you go to this link you will see how 12volt has the domelight for the escape wired. http://diagrams.marktoonen.nl/DOWNLOADS/26500_ESCAPE-_ESCAPE%20DOMELIGHT%20SUPERVISION%20DIAGRAM.pdf

So the equivalent relay terminals for your alarm as as follows:
Relay Terminal 30--Alarm COM wire
Relay Terminal 87a--Alarm NC wire
Relay Terminal 87--Alarm NO wire
The Dome light wire is listed as:
Dome Light   L GREEN/ ORANGE (-)   PIN 1 OF GEM MODULE **
You would cut the Lt GREEN/ Orange dome light wire. Connect one side of the cut dome light wire to the alarm's COM output wire; Connect the other side of the cut wire to the alarms NC wire. The NO wire from the alarm is not used.

No...You are connecting relay contacts (Similar to a switch) between the two cut wires. No polarity concerns.
