Hello,
I just installed an Avital 4103L remote start/entry in my 01 RAM. Everything works fine, locks, remote start etc.
Question I have is should the doors auto lock when remote starting if they are unlocked?

Use the negative start wire (small purple wire in the 4 pin harness ) through a diode to prevent feedback. Band faces the remote start.

No. The 4103 doesn't have that feature. It remains in the lock or unlock state you left it in. Unless u use the (-) starter output to lock the doors like chev104275 said

Correct. Stripe on the diode towards the remote start.
