My newly installed remote start works flawlessly but sets off the factory alarm. Everything else works perfectly even the heated seats turn on. How do I get it to properly disable the alram? Though I programed the key correctly..had the correct light sequences... I did not use a key sense wire or a door lock wire, is that what I need? Thought dball was supposed to disarm it...
I took my time and did a remote start install on my trailblazer ss using an avital 4103 remote start and a dball. I flashed the dball with the reccomended firmware.
any advise is greatly appreciated

For a 2008,
Alarm Disarm LT. GREEN (-) IN DRIVERS DOOR AT MODULE
Might be the same wire. Worth a shot!
I would usually say to disable the OEM SmartStart feature on the DBALL, but it doesn't show that feature for the Trailblazer firmware.
No question is stupid or not worth asking. You were once a noob, right? :)

It would work for sure if I did use that wire, but I shouldn't have to. The db all can disarm the alarm. And the Dball does disarm the alarm when the dball unlocks the doors with the avital (remotestart) remote. It doesn't disarm it when I remote start. I think there needs to be an option in the db all like some Hondas that I have seen where it unlocks the doors starts the car then re locks the doors. My 2012 crv is like that. Any chance of other firmware I can try? I have the expressloader to flash it. Or should I just run that wire?

And thanks Yes it is the same wire for the 2006 that I have. My wire diagram shows it... I hope I don't have to try it ;)

The DBALL units are sometimes not reliable. Sometimes you have to improvise! :)
Connecting the disarm wire won't hurt anything. The DBALL will send it over the CAN AND send a physical pulse to the disarm wire. Although it's redundant, it's guaranteed to work.
In D2D mode, the dashed wires in the diagram are sent over the CAN. In a perfect world, they shouldn't have to be hooked up. Some techs swear by W2W and never use D2D because it's guaranteed. You can't beat a physical pulse!
Worst case, the factory alarm may be disarmed twice before starting.

You can try another firmware if it's available, just be sure to test all the features before boxing up. Sometimes the latest version are bug fixes, and the beta versions are experimental.

I just looked thru the version history and it shows bug fixes that include alarm disarm issue, heated seat level issue, something about defrost and other issues.....hhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm........my heated seats work great, however I tried multiple times to get the option for the seats set to low, unsucessfully, so they are always on high via rs. My defroster also doesn't turn on with the rs. Im sure I flashed firmware version 1.09.....where can I find older versions?

If you don't want to run the wire into the door for disarm, you can connect the avital disarm wire to unlock on dball and then negative start output via a diode to the lock wire of the vehicle which will basically do what your Honda does.
