alarm on chevrolet express 2007

I am a first time Alarm installer and plan on putting in a new system into my 2007 Chevrolet Express 1500 Conversion Van this weekend. I have been doing a lot of reading in this form and in the instructions and think I am ready to take the dive and wire things up. I just wish it would warm up so I don't have to fire up a heater to stay warm in the garage! I am installing the following components: - CM5000 Compustar - EVO-ALL Fortin Universal All-In-One Data Bypass iFar Evo All - DR-1000 Compustar Drone Mobile - Excalibur AU-85TA Glass Break Impact Audio Sensor Questions for the forum to validate my approach: 1) I am planning to go (W2W) wire to wire with the Fortin Bypass and the DR5000 Alarm. 2) I am planning on using the Data Link between the CM5000 Alarm and the DR-1000 GPS / Done Mobile 3) Once the system it wired in, what is the sequence of programming? Bypass, Alarm, then DR-1000 GPS? Components: I plan to start preparation of the wiring harness tonight: [/URL] And most important the installation instructions and wiring diagrams:

W2W is a little more work, but has a higher success rate. There isn't really a 'sequence' per se. Any of the modules can be programmed at any time. The biggest concern is setting all the settings you need. Most are left at default unless you have a specific configuration. I don't know anything about the GPS modules. Maybe someone else can chime in here.No question is stupid or not worth asking. You were once a noob, right? :)

freqsounds - Thanks for the Input, tomorrow I hope to get things completed and see how things work. I will admit the amount of wires, locations, and connections seem to be endless, but with patience I should get things wired up! I was able to get a few things accomplished today on this install and figuring out where the wires are at and getting the dash out. One note on dash removal - Remove the Gearshift selector off before trying to remove the dash... Siren was mounted on the drivers side in the front: I found a small grommet / plug to pass the Alarm and Hood Pin wires through the firewall. It is on the drivers side close to the center and not easy to see: Although it is not fully fastened down I was able to find a good location for the DR-1000 Drone Mobile under the dash on the passenger side of the radio. I had to take out the radio to pass the wires behind it and down to the foot well on the drivers side. I think it should get good GPS / Cell Signal in that location:

More Progress today and I completed wiring up the EVO-ALL and the CM5000. After looking under the dash for a while I decided on a location next to the Drivers right knee next to the stereo.

Also, in the driver's kick panel, there's like a bundle of cables with molex connectors. Right behind there, there's a void you can shove stuff into. The access hole is a little bit further back toward the firewall. I stuck a DBALL in there lol. Just in case you need more room!No question is stupid or not worth asking. As I am wiring things up I have a question on the 8-pin harness for the CM5000. I read the manual, but I am at a loss as to what it does / how to setup The Blue and Violet Relay wires. The Manual says "This is a pre-wired positive output, negative trigger relay. Use the secondary ignition, starter, and accessory outputs from CN3 to give a negative trigger to the purple wire. This will determine the12V positive (+) output of the blue wire, which you can then connect to your secondary ignition, starter, or accessory wire."

I saw that spot, it was a bit too tight for my first install. Definitely a good spot to put things in!

This is a flex relay from what I understand (I haven't actually installed one of these, so maybe someone else can chime in if I'm wrong). It's used to trigger a relay to output +12V in the event you have two Ignition, Starter, or Accessory wires on the vehicle. To sum it up, I don't think you need these wires for this vehicle.No question is stupid or not worth asking. You were once a noob, right? :)

I was looking to see if this was "Optional" and I didn't see those words in the installation instructions. Thanks for the help! I am sure there will be some additional questions coming...
