Hello,
I want to add a DEI 508D motion sensor to an Avital 5303L, which already has a Stinger Double-Guard shock-sensor. The shock sensor only connects 3 wires to the brain (red, black and blue. Green is not utilized by default, as the sensor apparently uses a pulse duration to differentiate the stages).
My question is can I tie the 508D into the unused green wire going into the brain? My wiring for the 508D would be: Red to my own 12V source (not using the brain for power), black to GWA, and then how do I proceed with the blue and/or green wires? I was hoping to avoid removing the existing harness to add diodes to the shock sensor harness.
Do I need to use a relay when grounding the 508D through the GWA (.5A) circuit? Nothing else is connected to the GWA circuit.
Thanks so much!

You are absolutely right, don't use a relay it shouldn't be needed, also it will drain your battery.

Thank you for the reply. I'll do it that way.
How would you connect the 508's blue and/or green wires to the existing system?

Use the 508d plug the join the two blues, but diode separate them in line 1N4004 bands away from alarm/RS

Sounds good - thank you. Is there a way to instead utilize the currently unused green wire on the shock sensor circuit?

You can connect to the unused green going into the avital if you desire. The blue and green sensor input of the avital are functionally the same.

Awesome - thank you! Does it matter which wire on the 508 (blue or green)I connect to the green wire on the Avital?

Both although you can try either if you desire - not sure if the 508D multiplexs the output like the shock sensor does.
