Hello i bought a remote start off Ebay which said detailed instructions came with it (boy was i wrong). I have been researching on this site for two weeks and now im wondering if i bought the wrong thing. from my research seems like no one has installed this, anyways this is what i bought Excalibur model Rs-160-EDP+ with a omega imo5 pkt2 flashed for my truck. I bought this system just for remote start and to be able to use my factory key fobs.

There is no remote start add on option for the factory fobs for a tacoma. The fobs don't work when the truck is running. Your better off adding a remote start with keyless.

^^^ This is not entirely accurate. There are add-on options available to work with your factory system.

This system will work with your factory fobs. That is what it is designed for. If you find the you need more range you can add the 2-way Upgrade kit.

Hey jeremy, I have the same exact kit for my 07 taco, and just finished making all the wire connections. I'm sitting in my truck looking at all this mess as I type. For the most part I have it working, except that I cannot seem to locate the correct vehicle lock motor wire, which the WHITE/ blue wire from the 14 pin harness on the rs 160 is supposed to connect to. In the testing step, instructions say to touch the WHITE/ blue wire to ground 3 times. I've got that working enough to crank the engine, but the immobilizer doesn't seem to be doing its job of faking the presence of a key transponder near the ignition. When I hold my key next to it, it will start though. So here I am as you were hoping to find a post by someone more knowledgeable and successful in their very similar installation. Have you had any luck with yours?
