Pairing DEI 516U with the 508D

looking to pair a DEI 516U and a 508D proximity sensor with a 3rd party alarm. Door lock/unlock, trunk release or any other functions of the alarm isn't desired. Simply want to get a notification on the 2-way remote if someone intrudes in the vehicle and for the viper module to warn off intruders. I have read on other threads that the 508D can be thrown off based on weather conditions. I was considering wiring the warn away trigger of the 508D to trigger the voice module and wiring the full trigger to the instant trigger of the alarm (hence notifying the fob) Any idea where to mount the proximity sensor?

For best results as close to center of vehicle as possible and as high as possible while staying below the bottom of window opening usually works the best in my experience. If you have a center console us double sided tape or hook side of adhesive back velcro to attach to carpet on floor hump/channel.

have you ever found the need to mount a metal plate beneath the motion sensor? And would mounting it beneath the car seats (driver side), close to the middle be a good spot? The vehicle is a 2006 BMW 650i convertible and attempting to take out the center console would suck Thnx

If the center console has a storage compartment you can usually remove the bin to get access to place the sensor. Or just remove the top of the console at most.
