For ease of installation stick with Data compatible brands so you don't have as many wires to connect to vehicle or between the bypass and Remote starter. DEI brands and xpresskit are what I use. You can use the Fortin bypasses with DEI brands also but it has to have D2D enabled when flashing the module to talk to the DEI products. Some like Prestige and idatalink. It's really a matter of opinion which to use as long as it's a name brand Company. You can get a 1-button remote starter all the way up too a multi-car multi function LCD remote start. Avital is the cheapest DEI brand for basic range and functions and up to 1/2 mile 2-way LCD. If you want long range 1/2 mile or more then Viper, Python, and Clifford are the DEI brands that will offer up to 1 mile range and different levels of 2-way remote communication types 1-way,2-way LED,LCD, and HD LCD.
Once you have decided what level of functionality you want then that will determine what bypass will be needed to cover those functions. Basic bypass will do the Ford anti-theft only (Ford PATS) either with a spare sacrificed key or thru data. Or higher teir bypasses will do a lot of the R/S connections like tach, footbrake, door locks and such thru data.
