Hello all, I have not been here in a long time ago since my last alarm install for my car. Well i am by no means an expert or do this everyday but do like working with electronics witch is why im now stuck with an issue lol.
So hopefully you guys have some insight. I installed a Avital 5103L on a 98 Honda Civic. I was able to get everything wired up correctly i believe but the issue seems to be in the remote start part. Alarm works correctly and triggers fine but when i try to remote start the car it will do nothing at all. Last install i had some issues as well but at the least i would either have the car start for some seconds or hear the relays click, this time i hear nothing at all. I double checked my connections so here is my main questions, is there something that would prevent the remote start relays to even attempt to start? All 3 constant 12v wires coming from the remote starter box are getting power. Im sure there is thing missed or have to fix along my work.
On a side note i also had a hard time fining the lock wire for the doors. I found the "Correct wire" per several online wire guides but when testing they did not work. I was able to test the unlock wire just fine using my power prove, i tested both wires the one at the antitheft connector and the one in the blue connector on the kick pannel, any ideas?
Thank you guys in advanced!

You didn't say, so I'm assuming this is an automatic, correct? DEI products (to my knowledge) come set to manual transmission by default for safety. If you haven't done so, ground the BLACK/ white NSS wire and program for automatic transmission.
I haven't done a Civic like yours, so I can't help you on the door locks.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

Read the instructions with the unit there's a diagnostic selection giving you a reason for its failure.
Use a test light with an incandescent bulb to test for the locks, unlock should be near to lock.
Also check vehicle wiring on this site.

Thank you guys for the reply. You are right it is an automatic, I will look into changing from manual to auto.
One of the guides I used was from here and from what I was able see the cable colors did match. I will try cable by cable using the test light to see if it may be a different cable that want its stated. I will let you guys know the results after I test them. Thank you

The test light draws enough current to trip the OEM lock/unlock relays.
