I am looking to add trunk release for my alarm on my car for keyless entry and I have one of these at my disposal.
Install Essentials 524N High Power Door Lock Motor
Would that work for what I am wanting to do?

i have heard of people using door lock motor for trunk release, i don't know how well that worked for them. My problem is the stiff bar on the door lock motor not allowing the catch thing in the car to go back to a lock potion. With the directed 522t trunk release motor it just pulls or tugs the catch for the trunk allowing it to return to it normal state after it opened. heck i have seen installers use door lock motors to prime a older car that has a carb for a remote start.

You really need a 522, having said that I've used a 524 and succeeded.

I added an actuator and cable release on the trunk of a 55 Chevrolet and it just took some engineering as well as some fabrication to get it to work properly and reliably.

how would I wire up the relay for this? I installed the actuator in my trunk and ran the wires. my alarm wire is negative for trunk release.
