If you set your passenger side window, from your driver door to stay in the up position it seems like it activates a sound sensitive-exterior locking mechanism. I was at my buddy, Evan's place and as we were talking my doors locked conveniently 2 times during our conversation. I would imagine that this works on more than just Mazdas. Please let me know what you find out.
