Hello! So, I currently have a 5706v + 451m + 522t (with required relay) in my car mated to a VPS450 Powersports. Equipped for several months now and working flawlessly. I only have the security-related wiring of the 5706v connected at this time, I will connect the remote start functions after an engine upgrade (currently a carbureted 1981 Chevy Monte Carlo). I am about to swap out the Powersports for a DSM550. I want the infinite range and quicker 4G signal on the DSM550 versus the observed Powersports' slower 3G signal. my goal here is to have everything wired and powered and just ask my local shop to activate the unit.
Since the 5706v is an analog unit, I need to follow the top diagram on the (attached) install guide. Correct?
If so, per my picture (attached), only the cables extended to the right require connection (fused power, ground, the 6 pin black plug, and the 3 pin black plug). The 4 pin/3 wire plug will not be used as the 5706v module only has an open 3 pin slot. Am I correct here too?
If I am on point so far, my questions at this point are:
(A) Do I have to cut the 6 pin plug off and had-wire to corresponding wires on the 5706v?
(B) If so, how do they match up:
#1 White/blue (-) Remote Start Aux output 200ma = Not connected as not using remote start functions?
#2 Brown /black (-) Alarm input = Unsure which to mate with?
#3 Green (-) Lock output 200ma = Between 451m and door switch lock-side? Or between 5706v and 451m?
#4 Blue (-) Unlock output 200ma = Between 451m and door switch unlock-side? Or between
5706v and 451m?
#5 Red/white (-) Trunk output 200ma = Between trunk-pop button and solenoid?
#6 Brown/red (+) Alarm input = Unsure which to mate with?
I've also attached the install guide for the 5706v for convenience.
Assistance is greatly appreciated!
