I have installed a Compustar DC3 into my 2006 dodge ram 3500 using a pictorial install on this fourm. I installed it and it worked well but didn't like the 3x lock for start so I ordered the Prime 901 rf kit with Drone Mobile X1, a ft-OP500 programmer (said to have newest firmware installed) and 2 new transponder keys without remote. I self programmed the new smaller transponder keys to the truck with the self install for dodge and they work fine when starting with the key and do not cause the security light come on in the dash. But now when I remote start the truck and do a secure take over from the DC3 the security dash light stays illuminated until I shut the truck off and restart with the key. I also cannot get the FT-OP500 to connect, it errors out, would this have something to do with the security light being on? I've unlocked it with the compusatar key fob and the factory key fob before hooking up to the OP500. Also is there a way to turn off the headlights during the remote start and only have the parking lamps on? How do I program the options to turn on heated mirrors and rear glass, from the myfirstech.idatalink.com website shows it has heated mirror control? Can I run wait to start + signal from the grid heater for the starter delay (instead of a set time delay) if the grid heater cycles on after the truck starts? I have the DC3 flashed with COM-DC3-RSA-CH5[3.2].

the OP500 doesn't work for the DC3, you need to use the weblink updater to make any changes to the DC3. The OP500 only works for compustar brains like the 7200,cmx,900. The DC3 is actually a idatalink module, but made for compustar.
As for your questions about the headlights, heated mirros and rear glass, they are possible with aux outputs that a hardwired, but your truck to too old, and no support via data for those options.

Thanks for the reply silvercivicsir. Well that's a bummer the OP500 won't work with the DC3, it would be nice to be able to change options without removing the unit from the truck. I figured out I can run the wait to start off the grid heater terminal and I cleared my security light issue in the dash by removing the negative battery cables for 10 mins! I believe whats causing the headlight to coming on during a remote start is a a wrong resistor value on the relay (install guide called for 1K and I think my parallel combination came to 980). Re-reading the pictorial install from kreg357 I am sure it is the resistance value now. I would still like to add mirror heat and was wondering where to hook up a - trigger to the momentary defrost switch in the cab?
