I’m installing an Avital 3100LX alarm and am trying to get the keyless entry working. My van has reverse polarity locks and I’m 80% sure I need a relay so I bought one and connected it to the passenger kick panel red and brown wires.
I currently have white and black wire connected to red lock wire leading to door.
Green wire connected to red lock wire leading to engine.
Brown wire connected to brown unlock wire leading to door.
Blue wire connected to brown unlock wire leading to engine.
I’ve tried purple wire grounded and to constant 12v and still doesn’t work. The lock and unlock buttons on the door work, but the key fob does not. I hear the relay clicking but it doesn’t affect the locks. I’m at such a loss. I tried even reversing the wires, white and brown leading to the engine and nothing.
What am I doing wrong?

the 451m for five wire would be
white/black   brown lock wire going toward the switch
green/black   brown lock wire going away from the switch
brown/black red wire going towards the switch
blue/black   red wire going away from the switch
purple and the purple/black wire to a +12 constant
If it came with a factory key fob for keyless entry
purple and purple/black to +12 constant
white/black and brown/black not used
green/black - should be a pink/yellow and a pinky/green @ passenger switch, need to test but should show + when you hit lock or unlock, does not says which is which
blue/black - should be a pink/yellow and a pinky/green @ passenger switch, need to test but should show + when you hit lock or unlock, does not says which is which
33 years as a installer now just a retired old guy. Favorite thing to install/topic are remote starts/car alarms. Stop using test lights!!!
