My Daughters car is a 2009 Pontiac G6. I installed the Viper 160XVL a number of years ago and it works fine but the Remote plastic case will not stay together even when I used Helicopter Tape on them. No new remotes seem to be available or a replacement remote. I have a Viper 4806V as a replacement/upgrade. The 160XVL has a separate Relay box but the Viper 4086V does not.
So my first question is do I need a relay for the 4806V Starter circuit or any of the other items that need to be connected ???
I do have a Fortin CAN SL-2 installed now that I would like to reuse.
Thank You for any help with this install.

you could use all the neg triggers from the 4806, and connect those to the relay box. But you are only saving yourself like 5 wires... I would just start from scratch and install the 4806, but leave the wires long on 160xvl. should be just a game of matching the colors.

Something else to consider is a cover for the remote. There are kinds with a snap closure, and I think you can also get silicone stretch-on type.
I use something like this (not my affiliate link, just came up in a search): https://www.amazon.com/Black-Leather-7856V-7656V-Remote/dp/B00J843WMW/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=viper+remote+case&qid=1628818085&sr=8-7
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

The 160xvl is a funny remote, it has a Antenna on ot and a weird shape. They also seem to have some resistance when you try to squeeze them together.
Thanks,
Ed

I have installed the new 4806V to replace the 160XVL. The door lock, unlock and trunk unlock work fine. The Remote Start will not work. I have not found the correct connection to connect the Neutral Safety Switch wires to and do not have the Neutral Safety Switch connected which I assume is the problem. The 160VXL connection for the Neutral Safety switch is a Negative Input. So my question is which wire on the 4806V should I use to complete the Neutral Safety switch connection ?????

I did get the car to Remote Start. I connected the Black/White Strip wire to the Neutral Safety Switch which I had done before but the problem is that DEI ships the unit in the Manual Transmission Mode. Then I had to remember how to read and used the directions on how to program the system to the Automatic Transmission option mode.
