2002 Chevrolet Avalanche, Fortin EVO One

I have a 02 Avalanche with a Fortin Evo One unit that I am using for a R/S. I’m trying to use it for lock/unlock also and was told that I could by using the connection on the purple wire of the OBD2 port. Is this correct or will I need to wire in a relay for the lock/unlock and wire directly to the bcm?

I'm pretty sure that the 2002 Avalanche is the same as the other vehicles covered by the 1999-2002 Silverado Pictorial and not like the revised 2003 through 2006 versions of this class vehicle. The EVO-ONE install guide that comes up when you select a 2002 Avalanche from the Fortin WEB site specifically lists only the 2003-2006 model years. You could try installing as per the install guide and see if it does actually control the locks/alarm through the OBD2 Purple wire J1850 connection. If it doesn't then you would have to hardwire all of those necessary "convenience" functions listed in the chart. My best guess is that the EVO-ONE bypass module section will only handle the Passlock2 bypass. That would mean you would use the EVO-ONE Purple wire at Pin A2 for the (-) Lock/Arm output and the Purple/White wire at A3 for the (-) Unlock/Disarm output. These wires would be your inputs to the polarity conversion relays or a 451M Door Lock Module because the vehicle needs (+) lock input signals. If your Avalanche has the Factory Alarm, you would need the EVO-ONE Orange wire at Pin A6 as the (-) Disarm output for the vehicles Light Green Disarm wire connection.Soldering is fun!
