I've followed the instructions from this post: https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=144847&tpn=2#reply as well as from the manual itself which closely mirrors the instructions from that post obviously. The issue I'm having is the system doesnt respond to the button presses on either the 2 way or 1 way remote so I'm unable to make any changes.
Any help is appreciated! Thank you

The vehicle is a 2013 Ford Escape. The remote start functions normally otherwise. I'm trying to change the run time from 15 mins to 45 mins.

Make sure the transmitters are programmed to the module first, before you start feature programming. I believe they cover it in page 5-6 of the installation manual.

I didn't do the install but according to the manual, the two remotes are preprogrammed to the control module already. They function fine - lock, unlock and remote start the car as expected. You're saying I should reprogram them to the module anyway?

If that is the case then the transmitters are fine. Transmitters don't always come pre-programmed. You may just be missing a simple step in the programming process. Note: When programming with the transmitters you only have x-amount of time for each step before the module automatically exists programming. So be prepared to press buttons without hesitation.

Thanks for replying. When pressing the button combos as described, I get no reaction from the vehicle whatsoever - no chirp or light flash. I've tried with both the 1 way and 2 way remotes - same result of nothing happening. Is it possible its a different module than the cm900 as listed in the forum? or am I missing something?

The module part number should be on the backside of the module. Confirm it is a CM-900.

Will do. Where would the module be located typically?

The BCM on a 2013 Ford Escape is behind the glovebox, so I am betting that is where you will find the module.
