Hello, I would appreciate any advice/assistance. I have a 2006 Honda Accord, I’ve had my catalytic converter stolen once again and I’m over it. I’ve done some research and I came across directed electronics 504D shock sensor. They also have a tilt sensor, I would like to do at a later time.
I ordered the 504D sensor, after doing some research I’ve been trying to find how to properly install it. I’ve seen different ways.
My main question is, a few posts and videos use a relay to a power source then to the 504D, but other just directly install it to the power source with no relay. I also seen they use the door pin to the sensor to trigger it, now I’m just thinking, if there was no relay will the sensor turn the light on the car if I’m driving or is this where I need a relay?
What’s the best way to hook this up, I’m more confused then ever. Is this the proper diagram for the 2006 Honda Accord coupe, https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=84904
Also if I get the tilt sensor, what would be the proper way to install add it? Would I use the door trigger again or use a diode, etc?
Thank you in advance for any advice/assistance. I’ve lost too much money repairing my car!

Hood Pin      yellow/red to green/black      -      hood switch, gray 2 pin plug, pin 2 or underhood fuse box
You are correct in assuming that if you use the doorpin it will turn the domelight on when the shock sensor is triggered. This will happen when you are driving down the road. Using the hoodpin will not cause this.

Hello, thank you for the prompt response. When you say yellow/red to green/black and the gray pin what do you mean?
Which one will I tap? So the sensor has 4 wires, red which is 12 volt source, black ground , green not used and the blue trigger. So the blue will go to what color of the hood sensor under dash?
Do I need a relay, or no? If not, why does some videos use them and I’ve seen posts here for it as well.. mixed info on the topic.
Does the relay cut the power so the door isn’t triggered while driving? Majority of the post used the door wire.
I think you’ve posted on this topic prior, I recall your name.
Thanks again

The wire is yellow/red at the hood switch which is on the hood latch itself. It changes to Green/black at the plug right by the latch. It is green/black at the fuse box under hood. It is in a small bundle that enters the bottom of the fusebox. There is a Lt blue/red, a couple reds and a white wire in the bundle with it. It will show a direct short to ground when the hood is open.

Thank you, what about the relay, do I need to install one? Or do I tap a 12 volt source at the fuse box?

If you only want the sensor to be powered up when the key is off, you will need to use a relay. Wire it as follows. Constant 12v to terminal 30. Power wire for the sensor to 87A. Ignition to 85. Ground terminal 86. When you turn the key off, the sensor will get power.

Hello- so I installed the sensor yesterday. A few things happened, one, I never had the car auto Alarm itself. I don’t know if the alarm finally started working, but it auto alarms itself on its own.
It also auto alarms with the driver door open.
I installed the sensor to the hood pin.
I disconnected the sensor’s power to see if it was causing something, but it was still auto alarm Itself with door open.
Amy advice would be appreciated.
I looked up auto alarm from the oem, but we didn’t do anything like that to turn it on and especially for it to be alarm Itself/locking door with the door open is weird IMO.

When you open the drivers door does it turn the domelight on? Does it have door open indicators on the instrument cluster? Does that work?

Ok, so same thing, I reference myself as your username. I learned how the alarm works it appears. Once the alarm triggers itself, door open, hood, etc. and you disarm it with the remote, it will auto alarm itself until you reset it in the ignition.
This is why I never noticed because I never had the alarm go off.
In my opinion the 594d is horrible unless I have a defective one. I mounted it in several locations and if I hit the car, shake it, etc. it doesn’t go off unless I kick the wheel really hard. The sensor is turned all the way clockwise, but it was hard to adjust and is bent from adjusting. I don’t know what else to do.
