Just bought a 19 kia sorento v6 with regular key. I want to install a remote starter but want to use the factory key fob. Does the kia need any type of bypass? What are the cam wires for? I was thinking to install a remote starter that can be turned on with my cellphone..

couple options-
compustar dc3 with a hk5 t harness (minimal wire cutting) and the drone mobile for cell phone (yearly charge for service), no 3x lock to Rs (locks shut down when car is running). will have to use the remote start key fob or cell app to unlock while car is running
viper ds4+ with hyn3 t harness, viper smart start (yearly charge for service), guide says it will start with 3x lock but not shut down and the same will have to use the remote start key fob or cell app to unlock while car is running. does have a free short range ability to do lock/unlock/rs from phone but work's through Bluetooth (60 to 80 feet) and is not really reliable. Haven't meet a customer that enjoys using it so far just mostly get complaints about it
cam wires are the data wire inside car that talk with everything from bcm to stereo, info path. you dont have a immobilizer since it just a standard key (push to start only with immobilizer), us versions don't Canadian versions due but you will want one so it does the locks, tach, hood switch ect which are all the "convivence" stuff. Both are great remote starts, I prefer the compustar over the viper. Both have the built in immobilizer so you wont have to buy that extra for the "convenience" features
33 years as a installer now just a retired old guy. Favorite thing to install/topic are remote starts/car alarms. Stop using test lights!!!
