Hello. I'm a former installer from many years ago (Circuit City era 15+ years ago). I'm completely out of the game and have very little experience with modern CAN BUS type bypasses. Is there any way for someone to install a remote start with a mobile solution (SmartStart, DroneMobile, etc.) without a login to DirecTechs, etc.? My car is a manual transmission 2018 Subaru Impreza with a normal key start. I'm confident I could handle the install, however if I can't get a flashed bypass or activated mobile solution module it won't really matter. Is it possible for someone who isn't associated with an authorized retailer to do this anymore or are those days over? Many thanks.

anybody can get a idatalink log in to flash their products, however you also have to buy their flashing tool. same goes with Fortin.. only Directechs makes you buy a certain amount every quarter to enable you to flash their product

Alright, great to know. Thanks. Would I be able to activate the DroneMobile myself too?

Also, I’m having trouble finding a Compustar that is compatible with a manual. The most common ones I find online say they’re automatic only. These are the CS4900-AS, CS7900-AS, and others. It used to be that a CS would be auto or manual depending on whether the loop was cut. Doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

you can use anything that doesn't have a dc3 brain (4900skit rs1b20dc3 ect.). You'll have to get a blade bypass module which is a dead give away that it not a dc3. dc3 does not work with manual transmissions

33 years as a installer now just a retired old guy. Favorite thing to install/topic are remote starts/car alarms. Stop using test lights!!!

Appreciate the reply. I checked out the bundle you linked, which is exactly what I’m looking for. The Compustar site says this bundle and the other bundles listed on Amazon use the CM900-AS brain. The install manual for the CM900 says “The CM900S/AS are for Automatic transmission vehicles ONLY.” Maybe I’m misunderstanding something here?

Look for a Compustar FT7200-s controller. Compustar StartIt FT-7200S
It uses the Blade cartridge. You will need a Remote Kit that comes with remotes, antenna and antenna harness. There are many kits available depending on needed range and one or two way communication.
The FT7200-s can also handle Drone ( phone app ) control.
Additional info :
Clutch (+) Light Green at clutch pedal White 10 Pin connector, Pin 9
Soldering is fun!

All sounds good, thanks again. Seems like the CMX is definitely easier to find.
