Vehicle: 2000 Excursion Gas V10
Alarm w/Remote Start: Firstech (Compustar) MAX IT FT-7000AS-CONT
Remote: Compustar 2-way (2WT9R-FM)
I have recently started having issues with my alarm on my 2000 excursion after a year or two of it working great. Lately, the alarm will randomly go off and the remote will say "THEFT". All of my wiring still appears to be in good shape with no loose/broken wires. The original hood pin at one point was corroded so I replaced it with a ball bearing switch. The alarm randomly going off happened before and now after changing out the hood pin.
Any idea on what would cause this and for my remote to just say theft?
Thanks in advance.

How old is your car battery? I wonder if a voltage drop from an older battery could trigger it.
