I currently have the 5702v installed in my 2017 crv , remotes are on their last leg , I can get the 5706v for less than two old remotes.   The wire harness diagrams are an exact match from what I can tell , can I just swap the brains , antenna and Britannia the newer version remotes ?   Or do I need to bring it in to a shop. They want $250 to switch and I feel it’s a ripoff. I’m car audio savvy , alarms not so much

you can just swap the antenna, and learn the remotes to the old module.

I thought there were some “handshake“ issues in doing that

no issues with handshake.. the brain is pretty much the same, might be a newer firmware on the new one.. you could swap the brain if you want too, but programing the manual mode to be Off is harder than learning new remotes (in my opinion), The remotes will come preprogramed to the new viper brain.
