I have a Viper 5701 that is installed in an '02 Pontiac Aztek. I did the installation myself 2 months ago and it has been working perfect until now. I accidentally triggered the alarm and after disarming it and driving home in the dark the flashing light was driving me crazy. I could not recall how to make it stop so I pressed the Valet/Program button a few random times and it stopped. The next day, the remote start and the door locks have stopped working. When I run the diagnostics on it, I get 5 flashes (brake shutdown).
I have pulled the module out and double checked all of the wiring connections and continuity checked the brake wire and it is good. Now I'm at a loss of what other wires I can check that might give me this error or by randomly pressing the Valet switch did I mess something up?

There is zero voltage on the brown brake wire until I step on the brakes and then I get 12v so I know that part of the circuit is working correctly.

Maybe someone else can learn from my simple mistake.
Just like I suspected, user error. I have a second module I installed and I got the same brake shutdown error. That is when I realized it wasn't an error at all, it was just telling me how it shut down last time. After I installed the second module, when I paired the remote it worked like it should have. So, whatever I did in a panic the first time to shut the alarm off and kill the valet light, I must have caused it to lose the pairing with the remote.
Plus as a sidenote, I did not misspell Aztek in the title. Someone edited the title and made the mistake of spelling it Aztec instead of Aztek. HA!
