Hi there,
Okay i have installed a few alarms, but this alarm is my first command start/alarm; alarm. The sad thing is the command start works perfectly. Anyways my alarm has a feature i have never seen, although enver payed attention to. It is called Starter Kill II, Supposedly if the power is cut to the alarm it will gorund the alarm and not let the thief start the car. Seems like a good feature. So in my manual it has your normal satrter disable, and starter disable II, well i sat down and thought of it but it didnt make snese on how you could but 2 relays and have both work. So i emailed the company and they never got back to me yet, so i went ahead and figured that the book would tell you if you were to use one or the other. So i intalled both.
Heres how the relays work.
Starter diable
85 = Alarm
86 = Ign 1
30 = Starter
87a = Starter (steering colum)
Starter disable II
30 & 85 = Starter (steering colum)
87 = Starter
80 = Alarm (i think dont have it all written down)
Anyways to me having 2 relays on one wire is going to all back flow and cuase a problem.
So i sat in the car and armed it to see if i stalled everything correctly and well armed i tried to start it and it worked, but i got a big burning smell. MY theory is something to do with the relays.
Make sense
Thanks a lot
Jeff

this is just a hunch, but i think you're supposed to choose one way or the other, but not both. are there 2 separate starter kill wires coming out of the brain of this alarm? if not, there's probably a programming option that allows you to choose between a (1)normally open or (2)normally closed starter kill method. in any case, you really should choose just one of these.
good luck!

There are 2 seperate wires from the alarm. But i figured you werent suppose to run both at once, but yet the book didnt say you couldnt, so i assumed being there is 2 wires you could. But, i took out the one that is grounded when alarm is off and no more burnng smell, whew. Although it still starts when alarm is armed. But i did realize that 86 pin on the relay goes to ign 1 and ive always done it to the constant 12v wire, but the manual says to ign 1??
Instructions, i tell ya.
Thanks

pin 86 should go to igntion, otherwise with it connected to constant +12v, your relay will be switched on as soon as your alarm is armed. it will result in a small battery drain that can be altogether avoided if you use ignition instead. just make sure it's true ignition, that remains live during crank.
