2003 Eclipse, Viper 690XV Problem

HELP!!!

I have a 2003 Eclipse with a Viper 690XV installed (by a pro) and the remote will not let me operate the alarm.  I have called the installer, a professional, and he turns out to be as much help as asking a coffee table.  Nothing.  In any case, I have had to remove the fuse from the brain just so I can operate my car, otherwise the alarm will just go off non-stop.  It wasn't this bad to start with, but when trying to get in and out of valet mode, and when trying to "reprogram" my remote with the various features, I have now permanently screwed up the alarm.  Any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

-if ur unit doesnt respond to ur remote, then check for the antenna. the remote should be pregrogrammed out of the box.
-when you say you had to remove the fuse to let ur car operate, the only thing that could be disbaling ur car is the starter kill relay. since the alarm doesnt respond to the remnote and the alarm keep goin off, then the starter kill relay is active and wont let you turn over ur car.
-i have installe da bunch of these units or similar ones and havent seen these issues.
-i guess you have a new meaning for "Professional" now huh?

Well, I finally got the alarm to shut up, but now I have to "reprogram" my remote...  How in the world do I do this???

My local professional said, "it's in the manual, at the end" and would not go any further.  I am about to call DEI and let them know how helpful he isn't...

Good luck getting any help from DEI. Last time I called them for help with my DEI window module, and they said you have to be an authorized dealer to get technical support. IT's stupid because without consumers like us they wouldnt even be in business.

i'm just playing devil's advocate here, so dont jump all over me....

but do you have the owners manual that came with the unit you bought?  the installer is right.. the programming instructions are in it... or certainly in the install guide that comes with it...

the unit should have been set up properly before it left your " professionals " shop...and if it was you wouldnt or shouldnt have been playing around changing things..... i always sit down with a customer and figure out EXACTLY what features they want programmed on or off before i do the install....

i agree that the installer who took your money should have been more helpful ( especially if he wants your repeat business in any way ) but on the flip side... i can relate to him as well, as i've had customers myself who have buggered up systems by changing their minds and trying to reprogram units themselves and then coming to me and wanting me to take time out of my day at 60 bucks an hour to reprogram everything again when it worked fine when it left the shop in the first place.....

just an observation.......
