I need the wire color for the high beam headlight for a 2001 hyundai elantra. I know the low beam is [white] at the steering post but I need the highbeam color. I am hooking up a auto-on headlights at dusk module.

Thanks for your help

Thanks for the input, but the RED / yellow does not control the highbeam on the hyundai. there is a white wire in the harnes running down the steering post but it controls the low beam only.

I removed the plastic cover that goes around the steering post /ignition and exposed the light switch on the left side of the steering post. I found where the connector plugs into the light switch has another white wire and if you tie that to ground you can now control the high beam even when the light switch is in the off position . so I tied that white wire to my auto on dusk control module.

I am hooking up this module because it also turns on the headlights if you turn on the windshield wipers. It is a law in NY that you must have your headlights on when using the wipers. They actually give out tickets if you forget to turn on your headlights

Thanks again for your input.

What is the intent / purpose of having the headlights on, while the wipers are being used??
If Americans were really serious about road safety, then they would all be using day time running lights all the time, and not simply during inclement weather conditions.

the wire going to the high-beam headlight relay from the steering column multi-function switch is BROWN. it provides relay ground.
here are the complete headlight schematics for the 2002 elantra (same as 2001-2003):
