I have a honda civic in the shop right now and it is all messed up. When I dropped the dash to add a battery backup siren, and a hoodpin the alarm just fell down at me. After I put everything back in the door locks woudn't work anymore. He has power door locks on the driver side, and he has a door acuator on the pass. side for some reason. The alarm is acting very strange its like its in valet mode or something. The customer doesn't have an l.e.d so I can't tell if it is or not. He has an alarm that I'm not very familiar with it...it's a compu-star. And I also found out that when I lock the doors at the swich, it arms the alarm, and when I unlock it it triggers the alarm like someone has opened the door or something. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

On the 96 Civic there is a factory alarm system, which can only be armed, disarmed, and disarmed with out locks via the key fob.
Are you sure this isnt the problem, and it is interacting with the Compustar unit? I would also just hook up a LED for now so as you are able to decypher the trouble codes from the after market alarm system.
