what brand of remote start/alarm your installing? if using the domelight for your door trigger the body control module shuts off goes to sleep mode this could false yor alarm after a couple minutes. you could catch the 4 wires two at the driver kick and the other two at the right of the steering column underdash just make sure you diode isolate these wires.

if your truck is a 4door. using the domelight you could encounter another downfall too. if you turn off the dimmer switch the door trigger will read 12volts when the doors are closed or open and the alarm will not trigger if someone breaks in your truck by opening either doors.
