Hello,

I installed a K-9 alarm in a 2003 Astro Van, and all went smoothly except that the dome light won't turn off until about 20 minutes after the doors are closed.  Unfortunately, this problem exists even if I completely disconnect the alarm, and regardless of the dome light override switch, so I am worried that I damaged something.  Any help would be appreciated.

Michael

There is a door trigger that is shorted somewhere, or one of the door pins went bad.

Thank you for your reply.  I came to the same conclusion, but it seems too coincidental that this would happen just as I installed the alarm.  Anyway, since I only went near one switch, I guess I'll start by checking that one.

Thanks again,

Michael

check the pins on the vehicle or else the override button switch could be bad.

Does it stay on when the key is on?

The light shuts off when the key is on, but not right away - only after about 20 minutes.
