Took my truck to the shop because the service engine soon light was on. They repaired an open circuit at purge solonoid circuit 428. When I tried to take my Tahoe out of valet mode. Absolutely nothing works, no lock, unlock or remote start. Stopped by Best Buy to have them look at  the truck. They are saying that the alarm might have to be reprogrammed. If that doesn't work, the unit will have to be deinstalled. What could they have done? All the radio presets are working, so I take it they didn't disconnect the battery. Anytime a button on the transmitter is pushed I get the out of range chirp.

Maybe they accidently pulled the antenna out, popped a fuse, etc....  could be a number of different things.

when you dropped the suv at the repair shop did you leave the remote too.Try reprograming the remote yourself by opening a door leaving it open then put your key in the cylinder and press the valet button once and then once more and hold it till you hear the siren chirp once the siren chirps keep holding the valet button and press the lock button on the remote you should hear a chirp after that this indicates the alarm accepted the remote.try to enter the program mode in less than 5seconds or else your going to have to repeat it by putting the key in the cylinder and starting the procedure over again. If the programing of your remote does not work then yor remote must be damaged from inside, your going to have to replace it. I had the same problem with these remotes you have to be carefull not to abuse them in anyway cause they won't respond and they will beep letting you know no signal.

I looked at it again this morning. I found the brain and checked all of the connections. I tried the transmitter with no luck. I pulled the pillar cover so that I could trace the antenna wire. I unplugged and plugged in the antenna wire and it started working. I'll never know what they did to cause the alarm to have problems. Thanks to all who responded, once again life is good.
