I have an Xterra 2000.  I want to install an alarm keyless entry remote start.  I want to permanently disable the factory alarm.  1.  How do I do this?  2.  If I can permanently disable the factory alarm, will I just be able to use the outputs from my alarm (prestige asp 785) to active my door locks.  I am wondering does the factory alarm have any of the relays required for the door lock operation.  Thank You.

Do not disable the factory alarm just leave alone... 9 time out of 10 when most people try to disable a factory alarm it will also disable vital componets in the car.. For instance when you disable many newer chrysler factory alarms the car will not even start because you have alot of things it controls. I would just leave the factory as it is and install the Prestige normally.
