My friend has a 2000 Subaru Outback Sport wagon, and today he disconnected his battery, when he reconnected it, the parking lights started to blink. He can't get them to stop blinking, and he doesn't have the factory remote. I looked up his car and it doesn't have alarm info, but on the regular Outback it says disarms with factory remote only...

Is there a way to disconnect this? All it does is blink the corner lights, he can still drive it, but it might kill his battery.

any help appreciated

thanks

tim

Its probably an aftermarket alarm that had the siren cut or removed. Look under the dash and see if you can find an alarm brain.
As a temporary solution...
If you close all the doors, the alarm will probably stop flashing the lights after 30 or 60 seconds so the battery won't die. If he needs to drive it, tell him to turn his parking lights on so they aren't flashing and drawing attention.

It's not aftermarket, he lost the remote for it and it was a Subaru one.
