this alarm has two wires that are suppose to be for a transponder bypass module   I think they are red and black   but i want to know if these are for the ford bypass mpdule and how do i hook it up cause the module is just 1 wire that needs a neg when running.  I have been having problems lately with the alarm going off sometimes when its really cold outside after the carstarts, and im thinking that , that might be the culprit. Right now i have the bypass wire going to the wire from the alrm that says neg whenrunning.   im also having trouble with the trunk. the alrma says that i shouldnt have to unlock the doors before i open the trunk but i always have to.   and is there a way to make tyhe truunk open faster without holding down the button for so long  oh and i have a 99 mercury couagr

Read your flashes to determine what's setting the alarm off. I had a Pursuit(kinda the same) yesterday that was doing the same, it ended up being the shock sensor even tho it's supposed to bypass during remote start. If you have a 4 button remote, go to another channel. If you have a GREEN/ black for channel 5 that will activate immediately.

You could disable it with a relay during remote start....

try turning the sensitivity down first. mikem2 is correct the audiovox units will trip the shock sensor upon remote starting if they are set to sensitive. I install a ton of these and they work fine as long as the sensitivity is set right.

ive got a 99 mercury cougar and ive had autoloc door poppers installed for about a yera now. I ws living in florida before but now that ive moved to Ma, they are starting to act up.  Maybe its the cold.  If i park the car overnight and try topop them in the morning , nothing happens.  I have to climb through the hatch and start the car with the key and then take it out and wala   the passenger door opens.  the drivers usualy takes a while before it works. At first i thought that the car had to bestrted first but even when i remote strat it and let it run for a10-20 min,  it still doesnt work.  i have to use the key.  i sat in the car and used the remote and herad the click form the brain of the alarm going off but doors refuse to pop.  Any idea on what the problem might be.  And both doors have seperate fuses and the alarm is a pestige aps996a

i installe dthis on a 99 cougar and everything works fine except for the

1.  i am suppose to be able to unlock theh trunk without unlocking the doors.

2. For some weird reason, the sensor is not being bypassed when remote started, so i ahave to first disarm the alarm and then start if i dont want it to go off.  if not, everytime i start it, the alarm goes off.  I tried different sensors because i though that was the problem and i also tried a different brain, but taht didnt help. I trie dturning it down, but i shouldnt have to do that beacuse the book says so.  i thin kit might be something with the wiring. Cna someone please help
