Direct tech has that you can tie status output wire from remote  start to blu/black keysense wire to disarm fact. alarm when remote starting. Has anyone done this and do I have to use a relay to split the status wire between keysense and ignition bypass?

Thanx

yes I have.  Are you using a dei system.  IF you are you can use the blue status output from the relay pack to the keysense and use the blue/white from the brain to power up the bypass.  IF not you could use 2 diodes to activate both the bypass and the keysense.

Have you verified that your Corolla has a factory alarm? I believe it's only available as a dealer-installed item--------if there is a factory-installed alarm, it is a very rare option.

I guess I verified it kinda old school lock the door with factory switch. Let it sit for a few min. then remote start, the horn went off, while flashing lights. I added the disarm wire to the mix and tied to keysense it didn't trigger horn or lights after this. The car was a dealer trade so the dealership was unsure if any thing had been added, saleman new next to nothing.  We generally don't see many foreign cars, but with gas prices on the rise here I think this will change. Any info how to verify if it has alarm or not?

If the horn and lights are going nuts like you said then it does have a factory alarm.  They actually aren't that rare in the 06's.  IF you see a security led in the dash then there's an alarm in the car.  Don't remember where exactly the led is though, since I never really paid much attention to it.

I'm sorry to contradict, but that's not always true.
--The security LED means the car has a transponder key, and possibly has an alarm.
--It could also mean that there is no transponder key, but there is a dealer-installed alarm.
(Also, a couple of versions of the Tundra are equipped from the factory with an alarm, but no transponder key---a rare mix for Toyota.)
Anyway, here's how you test.
--Close the hood, trunk, and doors.
--Arm the system in one of three ways:
A. Lock with the factory remote.
B. Lock with the key, from the outside.
C. Open a door, hit the power lock button, close door.
--Now, observe the security light.
If it just keeps on flashing, you have a transponder key, but no alarm.
If it comes on steady, it has an alarm and it's now arming....... after 30 seconds it will flash again; alarm is now armed.

My bad I've never had a toyota that had the security light and not have an alarm in it.
