i was wondering if someone would help me out with installing remote start/keyless entry with a relay for the trunk release. i have a 2000 alero 2 door. first how the hell do you take off the dash to get to the wires? i have the passmod bybass and was wondering if the wires are color coded rather than haveing to test wires until finding the right one for the bypass? also the door locks are kind of puzzleing to me. the kit i baught has wires for (neg. lock and pos unlock) and also has the wires for (neg unlock and pos lock) but im not sure wich one to use with my car. any help would be greatly appreciated. thankx

Your in for a fun ride on this car. There is two options for the ingintion wiring, one - remove the radio and tie into the wires coming from the key, you'll have to do this anyway to get your 2nd ingintion and passlock wiring. To get your other wires if you dont want to spend time trying to get them behind the radio you can get them at a wire harness going to the engine undeneath the dash. Its to the left of the stearing column and about the harness coming from the BCM. For the locks you need two relays, wire them accourding to your directions only exception is that the unlock relay will require a 1.5k ohm resitor and they go into the same wire - multiplexed wiring. You can get your horn and parking light in the same harness as the ingintion wiring. The lock and trunk release are in your drivers kick. Have fun!

Notes:

NOTE:  This vehicle has the passlock II immobilizer system that, when adding a remote start, must be interfaced with.  Use DEI part 555t or 555L.  *1 Remove the radio, without unplugging it, to access the ignition harness.  *2 Lock requires a negative trigger, and unlock requires a negative trigger through a 1,500 ohm resistor. Must use relays. Must close doors to lock with a single pulse.  *3 Requires a high current ground. Use a relay.  *4 The lt. GREEN/ black is located in the drivers kick and catches only the drivers door.  The lt. blue is located in the harness coming from the drivers running board going under the drivers seat and it catches all other doors.  Use both door trigger wires and diode isolate each. On the 2 door the lt.blue is in the passenger kick.    *5 The ECM is located under the left side of the dash to the left of the column.
