I have a 97 Mustang. It came with a factory keyless entry but no alarm.

All I want is to add something that will use the existing key fob (maybe trigger off the power lock circuit) to arm when I lock the doors and disarm when I unlock just like an OE alarm would.

Then all I want is a blinking light and a horn honk if the door is opened. I don't even want a starter interupt since the car already has two anti theft devises that disable the ignition. I just want a visual deterance to prevent a theft attempt and an audible alarm if the theif proceeds.

I can install it myself as I have done a few regular systems but I don't know what is out there for my needs.

Just use the Hornet 727T, its a secuirty add on with built in shock sensor, also includes a siren and LED. It also blink parking light. Easy to install, programming it is also easy. Do a search on the forum for 727 and you will see some info about it
