immobilizer, 95 pontiac firebird

I wanted to know if there is another way to bypass the scurity feature on the Gm passlock . I have a 95 pontaic firebird and im low on money and just want to know if there is another way to do it then buying a immobilizer ???I Love my Crimestoppers

A more descripitive subject line will get you more responses. Whether you do it the right way or the shortcut way, should cost you nearly nothing. The remote starter's installation manual should describe how to do it with a relay and a resistor. A new, no-name relay only wholesales for a buck or two.........although you might spend $5-10 or more retail. You'll probably spend less at an auto parts store than you would at Radio Shack or Best Buy. But, used relays are all over the place. Old, broken car alarms that are headed for the trash usually have a relay or two.........or, if you visit junkyards for auto parts, scavenge the fuseboxes of the junk cars and pull the relays. It's possible that if you get friendly with an installer at one of the big-box stores, maybe he'd give you a couple of his spare used relays if you'd run to Dunkin' Donuts or McDonald's for him or something. Two or three relays would be well worth the $5 you'd spend buying him a bite to eat. Don't worry about the relay not having a plug-in harness; I don't use those anyway. Just get some scrap wire, and a few female crimp connectors, and make your own. ----------------- If you don't care to wire up the relay at all, you can just connect the resistor permanently----it's easy, but the car's anti-theft system will be defeated forever, making it easier to steal. Simply cut the car's factory anti-theft wires in half.......take the two ends that are on the "car" side of what you cut in half (NOT the "steering column" side)........connect the resistor directly....and you're done. If you choose this method, be especially certain to make good electrical connections, and support the resistor with tape, zip ties, etcetera........if it fails, you're stranded.
