03 Town n country unlock

Iinstalled a crimestopper 1505 r/s unit with a chdlpk-1b bypass unit in an 03 chrysler town-n-country van,The owner called a few weeks ago and said the un-lock wasn't working sometimes,I checked it out and found my unlock wire loose at the van wire,i soldered the wire and sent him on his way,he called again last week with the same problem and also said the foglights were blinking when driving.I was looking at the wires and could see nothing wrong,I removed the ground wire to re-do the ground and the fog lights came on-so i figured the ground was bad.I Then gave each unit it's own ground and double checked the resistance value for un-lock,o.k.he called again today to say unlock isn't working again,my question is-can you hook up the ground(green) activate start wire to a vehicle who's lock wire has a resistance value instead of a straight ground?This way he can use the factory remotes.

You need to hoop up to the lock motor wire, not the wire coming from the switch. It will be positive. Use a relay to convert it to ground. I've never worked with Crimestopper, but hopefully you can set it to need multiple pulses to activate.

yes,crimestopper can be programed for 3 pulses to start,good idea!i can hook up the un-lock wire there and also the start activation wire,it's reverse polarity but that shouldn't be a problem.

Why didn't you just use 2000 ohm resistor for unlock & 5200 ohm for lock? I've never had any problems out of those. Southern Stylez

That's how I have it hooked up now,and the owner keeps saying that the un-lock doesn't work all the time.Every time I check the vehicle the lock & un-lock work fine.I have to take the owners word that it's not working all the time.I double checked my connections and the resistor value's and they seem to be fine.If I can get the remote start to work from the factory remotes I don't have to worry about it anymore.

does anybody know if you can just run a wire to the coil side of the factory doorlock relay,I've heard this being done on other dodge/chryslers before,and if so,where are the relays?

That does work on Chrysler vans from 1999 and earlier, but not on newer models. On the older ones the relays were located in the fuse box and you could just pull the relay and tap onto the coil to make it work. I believe that an 03 however will have relays built in a module making it impossible. You are using aftermarket relays to control the locks, right?Mike M2

the owner tried both remotes when it acts up,so I ruled out the remote battery.I am using bosch relays for the locks.I am going to get the van back on sunday,if I can't get it straight he is going to get his money back.
