I'm installing a startnr2 system from Micro Alarm.  I've wired it up exactly as the instructions say and when it tries to start the truck it will engage the starter but it's not kicking the fuel pump on so the truck will not start.  I assume this is something to do with Ignition 1 or Ignition 2?  I've got ignition 1 hooked to the dark blue wire under the column and ignition 2 is hooked the to the BLACK/ white wire like the diagrams on here and on bulldog's website shows.  Any ideas, this is driving me nuts and it's the 2nd one(different brand) that I've put on the truck because I though the 1st one was just defective.

Where did you grab the tach signal from and also what color is it ? Sounds like it's not detecting the engine running.

Do I have to connect the Wait to start wire on my Micro remote start?  I've got a 2000 Ram truck and I live in GA so I don't need the Wait to start, so can I just leave it disconnected?

Tach signal is coming from the gray/black wire under the hood, which is supposed to be the correct one for a diesel engine.

My concern is why isn't the remote start triggering the fuel pump?  It's almost like I've got the wrong ignition wire hooked up, but I've checked two different wiring diagrams.

They both have +12V when in the on and the run positions.  When I trigger the remote start it is sending 12V to both wires.

Obviously there is another wire that needs to be triggered because I can hit the remote start button and quickly turn the ignition key to on(so the fuel pump runs) and the truck fires right up.

Do you mean they show 12v in run and start postion, as an ignition lead should have power during crank or start-up. Accesory drops power during start-up.

Thanks for all the help.  It seems that there are 2 dark blue wires in the column and I tapped into the wrong one.  Everything is working well now, except for the Wait to Start.

I found the Wait to Start wire under the hood and it shows a negative signal when the light goes out, but my remote start says it needs a positive signal?

Use a relay to flip the sinal from the wait to start wire. In the realy section on the right column it shows how to convert polarity.
