im installing a crimestopper rs1304 into a 2002 chevy malibu , my question is on the 2nd ignition line do you need to install a relay? also when hooking up the bypass module do you program it before powering the remote starter?

now on the rs1304 it has a jumper for the 2nd ignition and it seems like you dont have to install the relay cause it might be int he box? is that right or is it still needed ?

can the bypass harness be tied into the ignition t-harness?

What bypass are you using anyway? You DON'T want to use a bypass that ties into the diagnostic plug data wire on an older malibu.

In this particular vehicle, the dark green ign 2 goes from the ign switch to the fusebox, which then powers up the PCM, BCM, and instrument cluster. You MUST power this wire as an ignition wire when doing a remote start.

Is this Crimestopper you have a current product, or something old?

Pretty much any modern, quality remote starter will have an Ignition 2 output already built in, with no extra relay wiring required.

this is a rs1304 new system. it is the upgraded version of the rs900. it just came out i think this year.

The RS-1304 is last years's model. It has been replaced with the RS-1304DP II.
