I've read everything I can find, and I still can't seem to get these wires working properly. Everything else on the alarm I've got working fine. Is there anyone here that can give me some advice, maybe someone who has wired one of these cars before or something. Any help is greatly appreciated :)

It has no stock automatic dome light, and I think thats what is giving me a lot of trouble. Because when you open a door there is no light that turns on unless you physically hit a button or switch with your hands.

This is the first time I've heard of that. I had two vehicles fail a licensing safety inspection because the automatic interior light didn't work. Funny enough they were both Fords and both rangers with the switch in the door latch mechanism (about $200 each)... needless to say, a quick trip to the wreckers with a crescent wrench and side cutters I had teo door switches and the issue was fixed by wiring the 95 and 96 the same way the 93 was... progress they call it.

Ya i just took a more thorough look at my dome light, and it has three settings for the switch. Towards the back it says off, in the middle there is no marking, and towards the front it says on. When you switch it to on it turns on, but it stays on even when you leave the car and close all the doors and everything, its not automatic when you open the door or anything it just stays on. In the middle it does nothing, even when i open the door it just stays off, so maybe it could be this setting that isn't working properly which is in turn not allowing me to set up my door triggers properly? When I have the two door trigger wires put in, and i arm the alarm it says its good to go, then like 10 seconds later my remote says a door is open and the car is unlocked. but in reality if you walk up to the car, no doors are open and you can't open them because they are still locked, but the remote is saying that they're unlocked. So i'm really confused as to whats going wrong here. my trunk trigger is installed and it works fine, there is a light in my trunk that automatically turns on when you open it and it works fine.

The issue grows deeper. I now notice that my door chimes don't work either. could it just be a bad fuse somewhere?

The reason I ask is, most of the time the 2 are tied together at the fuse box.....check your fuses, specially since your missing the cig. socket. j

Just test the 2 wires at the point where the cig lighter should be...one will be hot, or get hot with ign. the other is ground.
