Does anyone know the correct way to adjust the runtime length on a Viper 160XV.  Currently it's set too short (about 15 min) and I need to make it run to it's maximum time which I believe is 25-30 min.  I thought I had heard this process can be done by using the vallet button.  The vehicle this is being installed on is a 2003 Ford Explorer XLT.  Any suggestions would be a great help.

Yes, it can be done via the valet switch it is in the installation manual feature 2-3 page 32. You can set it for 12, 24, or 60 minutes. The installation manual can be found here.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

i know that, but keep in mind unless it's one of the newer units with separate timer mode run time, that it will run for whatever it's regular programmed run time is.....

who in the world would want their car running for 30-60 minutes every 3 hrs??

Thank you for the help.  Yes all I want is the runtime with remote start not timer mode as another-kelly mentioned.  I found the manual very informative although it looks like the original installer removed the valet switch from the module when they were done programming it the first time.  I looked up the wire colors (BLACK/ grey) and the input (blue/ 2 pin) and it appears it is missing from under the dash.  Looks like I'm out of luck untill I get a new switch in my hands.  Any suggestions on this delema would be great...It's about -20 around here in Chicago so 12 min. of run time just doesn't cut it!  Thanks again

When you press the valet switch, all it does is make a connection between the two pins in the switch plug. You can do the same thing with a small screwdriver; admittedly it might be awkward and tedious. Otherwise call any Viper installer and see if they'll re-program it for you. Most will do it for a nominal charge; it won't take long at all.
